Coronation Street's Hope in sinister hammer scene after reading John book

Coronation Street hints that Hope Stape could be following in the footsteps of her evil father John next week.

Hope’s behaviour takes another worrying turn as she starts to be influenced by the true crime book written about John.

In next week’s episodes, Tyrone Dobbs worries when he discovers that his stash of the books has vanished from the outhouse.

Tyrone and Fiz both confront Hope about the books, but she insists that she threw them in a nearby bin.

This quickly proves to be a lie, as Hope tells her best friend Sam Blakeman that she made £75 by selling copies of the book to their schoolmates.

Hope continues to embrace the attention by contacting her peers on a group chat, promising that she’s planning a special tribute to John.

The next day, Hope steals a hammer from Tyrone’s tool box. She chooses the weapon after reading that John killed Charlotte Hoyle with a hammer in 2010.

Later at school, Hope announces to some Year 11 girls that she’ll soon be giving a reading from the book.

Hope believes that she’s impressing her schoolmates, but she gets upset when she overhears the two girls mocking her.

Hope pulls the hammer from her bag and heads towards them, leaving everyone to wonder how far she’ll go.

Meanwhile, back at home, Fiz and Tyrone worry when they discover the hammer is missing and they also stumble across Hope’s secret profits from the book sale. With the situation at school escalating, is it too late for them to step in?
