EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders‘ executive producer Chris Clenshaw has shared details of an upcoming Christmas storyline for Alfie Moon.
Alfie returned to Walford in September and has spent most of his time trying to reunite with his ex-wife Kat Slater, although he appears to have backed off slightly in recent weeks.
In a new chat with Inside Soap, Clenshaw confirmed that Alfie will be back to his old tricks over the festive season as he makes more attempts to woo Kat.
Discussing whether the couple should reunite, Clenshaw told the magazine: “The way I see it is: Alfie and Kat will always be the love of each other’s lives, but they’re in a position now where she’s fallen in love with Phil, and they make a brilliant couple.

“Phil is a very different man now that he has Kat in his life, and she brings out a different side to him.
“Deep down, Kat will always love Alfie – but there’s so much dirty water under that bridge and, no matter how much she loves him, I don’t think she can go back there at the moment.”
Asked whether Alfie will ever give up on Kat, Clenshaw replied: “That’s the big question: whether he will or not. All I’ll say is, we’re shooting something for Christmas, which is very funny and sees Alfie trying his best to win Kat back and make his kids happy – but will he succeed?

“I hope everyone will find it as heartwarming and as hilarious as we do.”
In the meantime, EastEnders viewers will see Alfie get held at gunpoint next week when a dangerous robber decides to use him as a getaway driver.
EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
