1. Emmerdale: Chas panics over Chloe’s detective work

      (Wednesday at 7pm on ITV1)

      Kerry may have left the village, but Chloe is determined that the betrayal she has suffered shouldn’t be forgotten. Chloe focuses her attention on finding out who Al was cheating with before he died.

      Detective work isn’t Chloe’s strong suit at first, as she jumps to the wrong conclusion that Priya was Al’s mystery woman and repeatedly confronts her. When Chloe refuses to back down, Priya takes matters into her own hands by proving her innocence.

      When Priya looks through Al’s bank statements, she verifies that it looks like Al was indeed cheating on Kerry with someone – but not her. This only fuels Chloe’s desire to find out more.

      As a sudden flash of realisation hits her, Chloe decides that she knows exactly who the secret lover was. Chloe storms into The Woolpack and declares that she knows everything, leaving Chas in a panic. Has Chloe solved the mystery?

      Sam finally gets his wish, as he’s permitted to meet up with Harvey at the prison. The schoolboy seeks answers over the tragic death of his mum Natasha, but although Harvey confirms the upsetting case of mistaken identity involving Natasha and Leanne, Sam still has further questions.

      Harvey’s past is exposed as he opens up about how he lost his own mum when he was 14. Sam speculates that this started Harvey’s downward spiral into a life of crime.

      Ruthless Harvey is unimpressed by Sam’s amateur psychology and storms off, but after reading through the youngster’s emotional letters in his prison cell, he later agrees to another meeting.

      3. EastEnders: Janine’s worrying accident

      (Monday and Tuesday at 7.30pm on BBC One)

      Janine and Mick happily look to the future as they attend their baby scan together. However, when Janine later heads out alone, disaster strikes as she falls down the stairs at the Tube station.

      Linda spots Janine with the paramedics and they both struggle to get through to Mick, who has misplaced his phone amid the World Cup chaos at the pub. Although Linda should be meeting up with her community payback officer, she drops everything to support Janine at the hospital.

      Later, Mick is finally reunited with his phone and is horrified to find the missed calls and messages. Will Janine and the baby be okay?

      4. Hollyoaks: Maxine steps up her detective work

      (Tuesday at 7pm on E4 and Wednesday at 6.30pm on Channel 4)

      Maxine is determined to expose Eric’s recent criminal behaviour, so she secretly visits his caravan to gather clues. Before long, Eric is concerned to discover that his laptop has gone missing.

      Verity helps her brother to look for the missing computer, but soon starts to question whether she’s doing the right thing by supporting Eric after all the recent allegations against him. The walls could be starting to close in on Eric.

      5. Emmerdale: Leyla and Liam split up

      (Wednesday at 7pm on ITV1)

      Leyla is back in the village following her time in rehab, but fixing her fractured relationship with her husband Liam proves impossible. The atmosphere between the couple is strained and awkward after everything they’ve been through in the past year.

      When the pair sit down for an honest conversation, Liam admits that he feels their relationship has been based on lies, heartbreak and deceit. He thinks they’re no good for each other – and Leyla finds herself agreeing.

      The couple agree to go their separate ways, but the split hits Leyla hard and she soon breaks down in front of a sympathetic Priya.

      6. Coronation Street: Yasmeen worries about Stu

      (Wednesday at 8pm on ITV1)

      Life should be looking up for Stu now that his historic murder conviction has been overturned and he’s allowed to bring up his granddaughter Eliza. Sadly, the new family dynamic at the Nazir house is about to face more teething troubles.

      Stu takes his responsibilities as a grandparent seriously and panics about getting Eliza ready for school on time. He wants to take on every role himself, so seems put out when he discovers that Yasmeen has made Eliza’s breakfast and Alya has plaited the youngster’s hair.

      Later, Stu creates a long list of activities for Eliza and insists that she shouldn’t miss out on any of her hobbies after the recent upheaval in her life. Yasmeen can see that Stu is going overboard with his behaviour, but a tactful approach may be needed to address the problem.

      7. EastEnders: Lexi discovers the truth about Lola

      (Wednesday at 7.30pm on BBC One)

      As Lola prepares to attend her first radiotherapy appointment, she finds it increasingly difficult to hide the truth about her prognosis from Lexi.

      Jay, Billy and Ben all repeatedly encourage Lola to be more honest with her daughter, warning that Lexi could soon pick up on what’s going on herself. Lola reacts badly to their pestering and storms off.

      Later in the week, Lexi gets suspicious over everyone’s strange behaviour and ends up swiping a letter that’s delivered for Lola. The letter contains details of Lola’s treatment and when it’s revealed that Lexi has it, Lola realises that it’s finally time to tell the youngster everything.

      8. Hollyoaks: Olivia continues to blackmail Charlie

      (Tuesday at 7pm on E4 and Wednesday at 6.30pm on Channel 4)

      Olivia faces another setback at the school when Sally refuses to give her a pay rise. She continues to blackmail Charlie, recruiting the teenager to help her make room in the school’s budget via ruthless tactics.

      Charlie wrestles with whether to do the right thing and defy Olivia’s wishes, or follow her instructions to stay out of trouble himself.

      Once Charlie’s decision is revealed, Nancy tries to expose Olivia’s sinister intentions once and for all, but Darren questions whether she’s going about it in the right way.
