Emmerdale confirms sad split for Leyla and Liam Cavanagh

It seems that an Emmerdale love story has come to an end, as Leyla and Liam Cavanagh split up again.

Leyla and Liam are set to make a painful decision about their marriage, after having been through so many traumatic events in the past year.

In an upcoming storyline, Liam and Leyla have a conversation – but things remain tense between them. As their reunion runs out of steam, it becomes apparent that the pair may be better off if they go their separate ways.

The two of them have tried to stick together through thick and thin, but that may not be enough.

Leyla gets emotional when Liam declares that their relationship has been defined by tragedy and grief, looking back at the loss of his daughter Leanna shortly after their wedding. Initially treated as a tragic accident, Leanna’s death was then revealed to have been orchestrated by her supposed friend Meena.

The village baddie didn’t stop there and shot Leyla in a desperate attempt to cover up her crimes. Months later, Meena was caught out, found guilty of three murders at trial, and sent to prison.

On top of this, Leyla has also been struggling with drug addiction, with her substance abuse taking a toll on her relationship with Liam – who kissed his ex Bernice after turning to her for support.
