Emmerdale's Moira to flee from village after Kyle discovery

Emmerdale‘s Moira Dingle makes a hasty departure from the village next week, realising that she can’t cope with the ongoing Kyle Winchester cover-up.

Moira was recently shocked as she discovered that her 10-year-old stepson Kyle was responsible for the fatal shooting of Al Chapman. Her husband Cain has taken the blame for the crime to protect his young son.

In next week’s episodes, Moira pays another visit to Cain in prison, where he’s being held on remand ahead of his sentencing.

Moira worries Cain by insisting that she’s not cut out for the lies – and believes that Kyle’s mum Amy Wyatt has got it right by deciding to run away to Belfast with the youngster.

The next day, Moira’s brother Mackenzie Boyd pays his own visit to Cain.

Cain is alarmed when Mackenzie reveals that he knows about the Kyle situation. However, that’s nothing compared to his surprise when Mack adds that Moira has also now left for Belfast with Isaac.

Natalie J Robb, who plays Moira, explained: “Moira is not coping very well at all at the moment. She’s trying her best to, but everything is a bit of a shock. Her family is being threatened again and she’s really worried about it.

“Moira leaving comes about when she finds out that Amy has left for Belfast with Kyle. It’s all too much for Moira at that point and she just loses the plot for a bit.

“Moira feels the best thing to do is get away from the scenario and all the circumstances surrounding it, so nobody says anything they shouldn’t say.

“As far as Moira is concerned, she has just lost her husband but in a different way – a way that she didn’t see coming. It’s the shock of it all that causes Moira to run off and be with Kyle. She wants Kyle and Isaac to be together.”

However, Natalie promised that Moira isn’t leaving for good and will later return with a new perspective on the situation.

Natalie added: “Moira gets her head around it. She does come back from Belfast, saying it was a blip and it’ll be okay now. She thinks she can make it work.

“Moira doesn’t really know deep down whether it’s something she can do, but at this stage, she thinks she’s got to give it everything because Cain is the love of her life.

“We have a scene where Moira says that she’ll do everything she can to keep their family together. That’s always been Moira’s thing – she’s fierce about her family.”
