Chicago PD has been dishing out a pretty consistent storyline for the first half of season 10. While there have been individual cases scattered throughout each episode, the main focus has been on the case involving human trafficking and the son of the new precinct chief, Sean O’Neal (Jefferson White).
The attention paid to this case, courtesy of Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) and her obsessive pursuit of the truth, suggests that PD is building towards a mid-season finale that provides some resolution. Now that the release date for said finale has been confirmed, it’s looking like fans will be getting this resolution soon.
Chicago PD season 10 fall finale date confirmed
The Chicago PD season 10 fall finale will air on Wednesday, Dec. 7. This is roughly the same as last year, right down the awkward gap between episodes due to holiday programming.
PD and the other One Chicago titles will have to take a break because of Thanksgiving. It would have been nice to have just one week off and then bring us the fall finale, but at least we will be given some juicy developments to sit with through the rest of 2022.
There haven’t been many details released in terms of episode title and synopsis, but the promo for the fall finale gives us more than enough to chew on. There’s going to be a focus on Chief O’Neal (Michael Gaston) and the difficulty he will have in accepting the possibility that his son could be a murderer.
The promo gives us glimpses of some tense exchanges between O’Neal and Voight (Jason Beghe), as well as more shots of Upton frantically putting the pieces together. Upton has taken the lead on this case, and it’s clear that she will do whatever it takes to make sure it doesn’t get buried due to the familial connection of the suspect.
If you can’t go throughout the winter break without Firehouse 51, there is a silver lining to be gleaned. All episodes of Chicago PD are available to stream on Peacock, so you get to pick and choose which ones you want.
